Trouw Nutrition is constantly partnering with our customers to find solutions to their needs. We saw a need in the industry for the ability to manufacture microbial sensitive products (i.e., freeze-dried, raw chubs, or alternative ways companies are making pet food) with a unique manufacturing process that ensured the high food safety and quality needed by our customers. We knew it was time to start the plans for the Blending Innovation Center™. From ideation to completion, the facility took two years. Opened in 2022, this facility will provide solutions the industry needs.

Acquired in 2001, the Highland premix plant is a pet food facility that focuses on our customers blending and premix needs. In 2018, this facility won Premix Manufacturing Category in the Feed Facility of the Year Award, which recognizes overall excellence in feed manufacturing operations and serves as a first-class benchmarking program for the industry. This facility has been making vitamin, mineral and base mixes for over 35 years. We continue to invest in our facility and our people to continue to set the bar when it comes to quality and service to our customers.
At this facility, we have a laboratory with a quality team in place evaluating ingredients and finished goods. Our Quality Assurance team provides an extensive quality and food safety review for all ingredients, premixes, and blends. Trouw Nutrition follows a comprehensive risk-based monitoring program for contaminants, such as pesticides, mycotoxins, pathogens, dioxins, and melamine.

Purchased at the end of 2019, Trouw Nutrition became the owner of a new warehouse that is literally in our back yard. This purchase was to continue our growth plan in the Highland area to continue to meet and exceed our customers standards with each order getting them product out the door faster.
